Juni 2026 offiziell den neuen H.Essers Container Terminal im niederl\u00e4ndischen Bergen op Zoom er\u00f6ffnet. Die Anlage befindet sich strategisch g\u00fcnstig am Schelde-Rhein-Kanal, zwischen den H\u00e4fen Antwerpen-Br\u00fcgge und Rotterdam, und soll als Konsolidierungszentrum im Nordsee-Rhein-Mittelmeer-Korridor fungieren, einem der bedeutendsten Transportwege Europas. Mit einer Investition von 75 Mio. EUR wird eine j\u00e4hrliche Kapazit\u00e4t von 325.000 TEU erreicht, was das Engagement von H.Essers f\u00fcr den Binnenschiffsverkehr im europ\u00e4ischen Containertransport unterstreicht. Der neue Terminal ersetzt zudem den bestehenden Inlandterminal in Bergen op Zoom.<\/p>\n<h3>Moderne Infrastruktur f\u00fcr den europ\u00e4ischen Transport<\/h3>\n<p>Er verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber 350 m Kaianlage, ein 6,5 ha grosses Gel\u00e4nde und eine Lagerkapazit\u00e4t f\u00fcr 25.000 Container, einschliesslich Einrichtungen f\u00fcr K\u00fchlgut und gef\u00e4hrliche G\u00fcter (ADR). Dar\u00fcber hinaus wurde die Lagerfl\u00e4che um zus\u00e4tzliche 45.000 m\u00b2 erweitert, sodass H.Essers nun insgesamt 210.000 m\u00b2 Lagerfl\u00e4che in Bergen op Zoom zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen. T\u00e4glich fahren zwei Binnenschiffverbindungen vom H.Essers Container Terminal nach Rotterdam und Antwerpen. Am Standort sind 150 Mitarbeiter besch\u00e4ftigt, die indirekt 300 weitere Arbeitspl\u00e4tze unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n<p>Ein entscheidender Standortvorteil ist die Lage des neuen Terminals. Der alte Terminal befand sich innerhalb der Deiche, hinter der Schleuse Burgemeester Peterssluis und einem engen Kanal, was bedeutete, dass nur kleinere Binnenschiffe den Kai erreichen konnten. Der neue H.Essers Container Terminal liegt ausserhalb der Deiche, direkt am Schelde-Rhein-Kanal, und ist somit rund um die Uhr f\u00fcr gr\u00f6ssere Schiffe zug\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Standortwahl hat direkte Auswirkungen auf den Containertransport in Europa. In den H\u00e4fen Antwerpen-Br\u00fcgge und Rotterdam gelten Mindestanrufgr\u00f6ssen f\u00fcr Binnenschiffe, die an ihren Terminals festmachen. Schiffe m\u00fcssen mit einer bestimmten Mindestanzahl von Containern anlegen, um die Kaianlagen effizient zu betreiben. Diese Anforderung ist besonders relevant, da beide Seeh\u00e4fen zunehmend mit \u00dcberlastungen konfrontiert sind und jeder Liegeplatz sorgf\u00e4ltig geplant werden muss. Der H.Essers Container Terminal erm\u00f6glicht eine nahtlose L\u00f6sung: Kleinere Binnenschifffahrtsstr\u00f6me werden vor Ort auf gr\u00f6ssere Schiffe konsolidiert, die die erforderlichen Anrufgr\u00f6\u00dfen erf\u00fcllen. Dadurch bleibt der Transport der Container durchgehend auf dem Wasser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDer H.Essers Container Terminal ist mehr als nur ein infrastrukturelles Projekt\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Gert Bervoets, CEO von H.Essers. \u201eDiese Lage zwischen Antwerpen und Rotterdam, direkt am Nordsee-Rhein-Mittelmeer-Korridor, bietet ein Logistikmodell, das weniger von Strassenverkehr abh\u00e4ngig ist und vollst\u00e4ndig in die Hauptkorridore Europas integriert ist. F\u00fcr unsere Kunden bedeutet dies schnellere und planbarere Verbindungen zwischen Antwerpen und Rotterdam. F\u00fcr die Region und Europa bedeutet es weniger Druck auf den Strassen und einen geringeren CO2-Fussabdruck pro Container.\u201c<\/p>\n<h3>Umweltfreundliche Gestaltung und regionale Auswirkungen<\/h3>\n<p>Der H.Essers Container Terminal wurde mit einem besonderen Augenmerk auf seine Umweltvertr\u00e4glichkeit konzipiert. Der Betrieb nutzt emissionsfreie Portalkr\u00e4ne und 19.000 Solarpanels. Festgemachte Schiffe k\u00f6nnen w\u00e4hrend des Anlegens ihre Dieselgeneratoren \u00fcber Landstrom abschalten. Langfristig wird die Anlage auch als Ladepunkt f\u00fcr die elektrifizierte Binnenschifffahrt der Zukunft ausgestattet. Die Lage au\u00dferhalb der Deiche f\u00fchrt zu einer signifikanten Reduzierung der Stickstoffemissionen.<\/p>\n<p>Der neue Terminal erg\u00e4nzt die bestehenden Dienstleistungen von H.Essers in der Region, darunter Zollabwicklung, Lagerung gef\u00e4hrlicher Stoffe und wertsch\u00f6pfende T\u00e4tigkeiten wie das Bef\u00fcllen.
