(&#8222;K&#8220; LINE) hat k\u00fcrzlich Vertr\u00e4ge mit der China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. unterzeichnet, um vier Autotransporter zu bauen, die mit LNG (Fl\u00fcssigerdgas) betrieben werden k\u00f6nnen. Dies erm\u00f6glicht KESS, neben Personenwagen auch schwere und \u00fcbergrosse Fracht zu transportieren. Ein weiterer Aspekt der neuen Schiffe ist der Einsatz von LNG als Kraftstoff f\u00fcr den Dual-Fuel-Antrieb. Dieser soll die Emissionen von Kohlendioxid (CO2) um 25 % bis 30 % reduzieren und die Emissionen von Schwefeloxiden (SOx), die zur Luftverschmutzung beitragen, nahezu vollst\u00e4ndig senken, verglichen mit herk\u00f6mmlichen Schiffen, die Schwer\u00f6l verwenden.
