Hintergrund ist ein am 1. Mai erlassenes Dekret der US-Regierung, das die Sanktionen gegen die Karibikinsel versch\u00e4rft.<\/p>\n<p>Wie beide Unternehmen mitteilten, w\u00fcrden bis auf Weiteres keine neuen Buchungen f\u00fcr Kuba angenommen. Die Massnahme erfolge im Zusammenhang mit den aktuellen US-Vorgaben. Pr\u00e4sident Donald Trump hatte Anfang Mai ein Dekret unterzeichnet, das Sanktionen gegen Personen sowie ausl\u00e4ndische Banken und Unternehmen vorsieht, die in zentralen Bereichen der kubanischen Wirtschaft t\u00e4tig sind. Dazu z\u00e4hlen Energie, Bergbau, Verteidigung und Finanzdienstleistungen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Schifffahrt wird im Text zwar nicht ausdr\u00fccklich erw\u00e4hnt. Da Reedereien jedoch staatliche Hafenanlagen nutzen, die vom kubanischen Verteidigungsministerium verwaltet werden, sehen sie sich zu einer Anpassung ihrer Aktivit\u00e4ten gezwungen, um m\u00f6gliche Sekund\u00e4rsanktionen zu vermeiden.<\/p>\n<p>Neben dem seit 1962 bestehenden Embargo versch\u00e4rften die USA zuletzt auch die Beschr\u00e4nkungen f\u00fcr \u00d6llieferungen nach Kuba.
