Um die Ausbreitung der NWS in den USA zu verhindern, arbeitet die USDA eng mit dem U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) zusammen. Gemeinsam haben sie einen Vertrag zur Errichtung einer neuen sterile Fliegenproduktionsanlage auf der Moore Air Base in Edinburg, Texas, abgeschlossen. Wenn sterile M\u00e4nnchen mit wilden Weibchen paaren, legen diese unbefruchtete Eier, die nicht schl\u00fcpfen. Diese Methode hat sich als \u00e4usserst effektiv und umweltfreundlich erwiesen und wird weltweit anerkannt.<\/p>\n<p>Die neue Anlage in Texas wird die einzige ihrer Art in den USA sein und arbeitet mit bestehenden Einrichtungen in Panama und Mexiko zusammen, um die NWS zu bek\u00e4mpfen.
