Anl\u00e4sslich des 25-j\u00e4hrigen Bestehens von GBRf hat der CEO John Smith den Prozess zur Ernennung seines Nachfolgers eingeleitet. Die \u00dcbergabe wird voraussichtlich im kommenden Jahr erfolgen. Smith wird das Unternehmen w\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit weiterhin leiten und eine reibungslose \u00dcbergabe sicherstellen.<\/p>\n<p>Im Rahmen dieser Ver\u00e4nderungen wurden auch zwei leitende Positionen neu besetzt. Liam Day (links) wurde vom Asset Director zum Interim Managing Director bef\u00f6rdert, w\u00e4hrend Ian Langton\u00a0 (rechts) vom Production Director zum Chief Operating Officer (COO) aufgestiegen ist.<\/p>\n<p>Day trat 2014 in das Unternehmen ein, nachdem er zuvor bei Network Rail t\u00e4tig war. Er begann seine Karriere im Rahmen eines Management-Trainingsprogramms bei Network Rail und wechselte anschliessend in den Bereich Schieneng\u00fcterverkehr. Bei GBRf war er zun\u00e4chst als Terminal Development Manager t\u00e4tig und \u00fcbernahm sp\u00e4ter verschiedene Positionen, darunter Head of Estates und General Manager im kommerziellen Team. Im M\u00e4rz 2020 wurde er zum Commercial Director ernannt und im September 2024 zum Asset Director.<\/p>\n<p>Langton kam im April 2012 von DB Schenker zu GBRf, wo er 22 Jahre lang arbeitete, nachdem er seine Karriere bei British Rail begonnen hatte. Er startete als Head of Operations und wurde 2018 zum Production Director ernannt, wo er die t\u00e4gliche Durchf\u00fchrung der GBRf-Operationen leitet.<\/p>\n<p>John Smith \u00e4usserte sich zu den Ver\u00e4nderungen: \u201eGB Railfreight befindet sich in einer au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich starken Position. In diesem Jahr sind wir der gr\u00f6sste Schieneng\u00fcterverkehrsoperator im Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich geworden, und unsere branchenf\u00fchrenden Hybridlokomotiven der Klasse 99 sind in Betrieb gegangen, was dazu beitr\u00e4gt, das Unternehmen f\u00fcr die kommenden Jahre zukunftssicher zu machen. Angesichts unseres 25-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4ums ist dies ein nat\u00fcrlicher Zeitpunkt, um die Zukunft des Unternehmens zu planen.\u201c\u00a0Er f\u00fcgte hinzu, dass die \u00dcbergabe sorgf\u00e4ltig \u00fcber das kommende Jahr hinweg gemanagt werde und er sich weiterhin voll und ganz der F\u00fchrung des Unternehmens verpflichtet f\u00fchle.<\/p>\n<p>James Cooper, Vorsitzender von GB Railfreight, bezeichnete die Ver\u00e4nderungen als einen bedeutenden Moment f\u00fcr das Unternehmen. Er hob hervor, dass Smith, der das Unternehmen seit seiner Gr\u00fcndung vor 25 Jahren leitet, massgeblich zu dessen Wachstum vom Start-up zum gr\u00f6ssten Schieneng\u00fcterverkehrsoperator im Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich beigetragen hat.
