Die Region beherbergt Industrieanlagen entlang des Rheins sowie in den westdeutschen Kanalgebieten und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber die umschlagst\u00e4rksten Binnenh\u00e4fen des Landes, wie der Verband der Deutschen Binnenschifffahrt (BDB) und der Verband Spedition und Logistik Nordrhein-Westfalen (VSL NRW) gemeinsam mitteilen. Diese Form des G\u00fctertransports stehe jedoch vor Herausforderungen, wenn die Infrastruktur nicht ausreichend modernisiert wird. Dies war das zentrale Thema des 8. Binnenschifffahrtsforums, das am vergangenen Mittwoch in Neuss stattfand und von den Verb\u00e4nden BDB und VSL NRW organisiert wurde.<\/p>\n<h3>Handlungsbedarf f\u00fcr die Wasserstrasseninfrastruktur<\/h3>\n<p>Die Teilnehmer des Forums betonen die Notwendigkeit, die Wasserstrasseninfrastruktur zu ert\u00fcchtigen, um den Anforderungen der Binnenschifffahrt gerecht zu werden. Wirtschaftsministerin Mona Neubaur wies darauf hin, dass die Binnenschifffahrt eine entscheidende Rolle f\u00fcr den Wirtschaftsstandort Nordrhein-Westfalen spielt. Sie transportiere grosse Mengen an G\u00fctern auf kosteng\u00fcnstige, sichere und umweltfreundliche Weise und tr\u00e4gt somit zur Schaffung von Arbeitspl\u00e4tzen und zur Versorgungssicherheit bei.<\/p>\n<p>Dennoch warnte Neubaur vor einem drohenden Substanzverlust bei den Bundeswasserstrassen, die nach wie vor unterfinanziert seien. \u201eDarum setzt sich die Landesregierung engagiert beim Bund daf\u00fcr ein, dass mehr Geld f\u00fcr die Wasserstrasse bereitgestellt wird und im Sonderverm\u00f6gen f\u00fcr Infrastruktur und Klimaneutralit\u00e4t ber\u00fccksichtigt wird\u201c,
