EUR von der Europ\u00e4ischen Investitionsbank (EIB) zur Installation von Landstromanlagen an drei Containerterminals im Hafen von Rotterdam. Dieses Vorhaben wird durch einen Zuschuss der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission im Rahmen der Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) f\u00fcr alternative Kraftstoffe im Verkehrssektor unterst\u00fctzt. Ziel ist es, grosse Containerschiffe an das Landstromnetz anzuschliessen, um den Einsatz fossiler Brennstoffe zur Stromerzeugung an Bord zu reduzieren.<\/p>\n<p>Die Finanzierung durch die EIB wird f\u00fcr das Projekt Rotterdam Shore Power verwendet, eine gemeinsame Initiative der Hafenbeh\u00f6rde Rotterdam und des Unternehmens Eneco. Neben der Installation der Landstromversorgung wird Rotterdam Shore Power auch f\u00fcr die Bereitstellung der Netzanschl\u00fcsse, Verkabelungen sowie f\u00fcr weitere Bau- und Erdarbeiten verantwortlich sein. Insgesamt sollen acht Kilometer Kai mit Landstrom ausgestattet werden, wobei 35 Anschlussstellen f\u00fcr Seeschiffe eingerichtet werden.<\/p>\n<p>Zus\u00e4tzlich zum EIB-Kredit ist das Projekt f\u00fcr einen Zuschuss der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission in H\u00f6he von etwa 70 Mio. EUR im Rahmen der Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) der Connecting Europe Facility qualifiziert.<\/p>\n<p>EIB-Vizepr\u00e4sident Robert de Groot (links) betonte die Bedeutung des Projekts f\u00fcr die Reduzierung der Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von fossilen Brennstoffen: \u201eRotterdam ist Europas wichtigster Hafen und bleibt innovativ, um an der Spitze zu bleiben. Der Anschluss grosser Containerschiffe an Landstrom ist ein wesentlicher Schritt zur Verringerung unserer Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von fossilen Brennstoffen. Dies kommt nicht nur der Umwelt, der Luftqualit\u00e4t und der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit zugute, sondern auch unserer Wirtschaft, da es Europa helfen wird, weniger abh\u00e4ngig von Energie aus der Ferne zu werden.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Die Hafenbeh\u00f6rde Rotterdam verfolgt das Ziel, bis 2050 klimaneutral zu arbeiten. Investitionen wie diese sind unerl\u00e4sslich, um unsere Klimaziele zu erreichen und die Rolle des Hafens als nachhaltigen, zukunftssicheren Container-Hub in Nordwesteuropa zu st\u00e4rken.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Cecilia Thorfinn (rechts), kommissarische Leiterin der Vertretung der EU-Kommission in den Niederlanden, wies auf die Notwendigkeit nachhaltiger Transportl\u00f6sungen hin: \u201eDer aktuelle geopolitische Kontext zwingt Europa, entscheidende Entscheidungen zu treffen, um wettbewerbsf\u00e4hig zu bleiben und energieunabh\u00e4ngig zu werden. F\u00fcr den Hafen von Rotterdam, als gr\u00f6sster Hafen Europas, ist nachhaltiger Transport entscheidend f\u00fcr die Aufrechterhaltung der Verbindungen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Die Finanzierung durch die EIB, vertreten durch Pr\u00e4sidentin Nadia Calvi\u00f1o (2.v.l.), und der Zuschuss der EU unterst\u00fctzen direkt die Ambitionen, das europ\u00e4ische Verkehrsnetz mit Infrastruktur f\u00fcr elektrische Mobilit\u00e4t auszustatten. Derzeit sind grosse Containerschiffe noch auf Motoren oder fossile Brennergeneratoren angewiesen, um die elektrischen Systeme an Bord zu versorgen, was nicht nur CO\u2082-Emissionen verursacht, sondern auch L\u00e4rmbel\u00e4stigung und Partikelemissionen mit sich bringt.
