Ziel ist es, Luftschadstoffe aus der Schifffahrt zu reduzieren und empfindliche \u00d6kosysteme besser zu sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n<p>Die emission control areas (ECAs) dienen dazu, die regionalen Emissionen von Schwefeloxiden, Stickoxiden und Feinstaub zu senken. Dadurch sollen die Luftqualit\u00e4t verbessert und gesundheitliche Risiken verringert werden. Die Vorschriften gelten ab sofort, eine \u00dcbergangsfrist f\u00fcr strengere Schwefelgrenzwerte l\u00e4uft jedoch bis M\u00e4rz 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Fokus auf weitere Emissionsquellen<\/p>\n<p>Neben den Fortschritten bei klassischen Schadstoffen fordert die Organisation zus\u00e4tzliche Massnahmen zur Reduktion von Russpartikeln. Diese tragen erheblich zur Erw\u00e4rmung der Arktis bei und beschleunigen das Schmelzen von Eisfl\u00e4chen.<\/p>\n<p>Zunehmender Handlungsdruck<\/p>\n<p>Die Schifffahrt in der Arktis nimmt zu, wodurch auch die Emissionen steigen. Vor diesem Hintergrund sieht die Allianz weiteren Regulierungsbedarf auf internationaler Ebene.<\/p>\n<p>Die International Maritime Organization (IMO) soll daher zus\u00e4tzliche Massnahmen pr\u00fcfen, um Emissionen umfassender zu begrenzen und langfristige Umweltwirkungen zu reduzieren.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cleanarctic.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
