Die F\u00e4hre z\u00e4hlt zu den gr\u00f6ssten ihrer Art, die ausschliesslich mit Landstrom betrieben werden k\u00f6nnen. Mit dieser Indienststellung verfolgt die Reederei das Ziel, bis 2040 einen emissionsfreien F\u00e4hrbetrieb zu realisieren und gleichzeitig die Kapazit\u00e4ten f\u00fcr Frachtkunden zu erh\u00f6hen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Jungfernfahrt der \u201eThe Baltic Whale\u201c begann am 10. M\u00e4rz 2026 um 08:05 Uhr. An Bord befanden sich neben der Besatzung auch Frachtkunden, die die erste \u00dcberfahrt miterleben konnten. Die F\u00e4hre ist mit einem der gr\u00f6ssten Batteriesysteme ausgestattet, das derzeit auf einer F\u00e4hre zu finden ist, und kann die \u00dcberfahrt ohne direkte Emissionen durchf\u00fchren. Zudem reduziert sie die Ger\u00e4uschemissionen sowohl \u00fcber als auch unter Wasser, was positive Auswirkungen auf das Passagiererlebnis und die Meeresumwelt hat.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Guldmann Petersen, COO von Scandlines: \u201eDiese Indienststellung auf dem Fehmarnbelt ist ein Meilenstein f\u00fcr Scandlines \u2013 ein Tag, auf den wir viele Jahre gewartet haben.\u201c Die Idee zu einer batteriebetriebenen F\u00e4hre wurde bereits 2018 entwickelt.<\/p>\n<h3>Frachtf\u00e4hre f\u00fcr die Zukunft<\/h3>\n<p>Die \u201eThe Baltic Whale\u201c wurde speziell f\u00fcr den Frachtverkehr konzipiert und bietet Platz f\u00fcr 66 Lkw auf zwei Decks. Sie ist in der Lage, verschiedene Arten von Gefahrgut, wie Industrieprodukte und Autoteile, effizient zu transportieren. Dies erm\u00f6glicht eine Verlagerung von Fracht auf diese F\u00e4hre, wodurch zus\u00e4tzliche Kapazit\u00e4ten f\u00fcr Pkw und Passagiere auf den anderen Scandlines-F\u00e4hren geschaffen werden, insbesondere in der Hochsaison.<\/p>\n<p>Petersen betont die Bedeutung der neuen F\u00e4hre f\u00fcr die Unternehmensstrategie: \u201eDie neue F\u00e4hre ist ein wichtiger Baustein von Scandlines\u2018 Gr\u00fcner Ambition, bis 2040 den F\u00e4hrbetrieb ohne direkte Emissionen sicherzustellen.\u201c Mit der Indienststellung erh\u00f6ht sich die Transportkapazit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Frachteinheiten auf der Route R\u00f8dby\u2013Puttgarden um 27%, was den Frachtkunden verbesserte Bedingungen an Bord bietet.<\/p>\n<p>Die F\u00e4hre bew\u00e4ltigt die 18,5 km lange Strecke in etwa 45 Minuten. Dank einer modernen Ladeinfrastruktur in den H\u00e4fen betr\u00e4gt die Ladezeit lediglich zw\u00f6lf Minuten. Eine intelligente Ladestation sorgt daf\u00fcr, dass die F\u00e4hre unabh\u00e4ngig von Wasserst\u00e4nden in weniger als 15 Sekunden automatisch betriebsbereit ist. Zudem ist das Schiff mit Dieselgeneratoren ausgestattet, die bei Bedarf f\u00fcr einen Hybridbetrieb eingesetzt werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>Die technischen Daten der \u201eThe Baltic Whale\u201c umfassen eine L\u00e4nge von 147,4 m, eine Breite von 25,4 m und eine Ladekapazit\u00e4t von 66 Frachteinheiten. Die maximale Passagierzahl betr\u00e4gt 140, und die Dienstgeschwindigkeit liegt bei 16 Knoten. Die Gesamtinvestition in das Projekt bel\u00e4uft sich auf 84 Mio.
