November 2025 f\u00fcr den G\u00fcterverkehr in Betrieb und hat in den ersten 100 Tagen bereits \u00fcber 1 Million Tonnen an G\u00fctern transportiert. Dies gab die \u00d6BB Rail Cargo Group bei einem Pressetermin auf dem Gel\u00e4nde des Industrieunternehmens Alpacem bekannt. In diesem Zeitraum wurden rund 1.050 G\u00fcterz\u00fcge mit mehr als 21.000 Wagen eingesetzt.<\/p>\n<h3>Effizienz und Kapazit\u00e4t im G\u00fcterverkehr<\/h3>\n<p>Die neue Strecke erm\u00f6glicht nach Unternehmensangaben k\u00fcrzere Fahrzeiten und eine h\u00f6here Effizienz, was zu einer besseren Auslastung der Transportkapazit\u00e4ten f\u00fchrt. Die Flachstrecke der Koralmbahn weist eine maximale Steigung von 10 Promille auf, im Vergleich zu 16 Promille auf vorherigen Strecken. Dies erlaubt h\u00f6here Anh\u00e4ngelasten und tr\u00e4gt zur Einsparung von Energie bei. Laut Angaben der \u00d6BB Rail Cargo Group k\u00f6nnen durch die neue Strecke j\u00e4hrlich bis zu 300.000 Zugkilometer vermieden werden.<\/p>\n<p>Mobilit\u00e4tsminister Peter Hanke betont die strategische Bedeutung der Koralmbahn f\u00fcr die Mobilit\u00e4t in \u00d6sterreich.
