Mit der Inbetriebnahme von vier neuen, vollelektrischen Containerbr\u00fccken der Suez-Klasse am Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) ist der Hafen nach eigenen Angaben nun in der Lage, gleichzeitig ULCVs abzufertigen.<\/p>\n<p>Die neuen Containerbr\u00fccken erg\u00e4nzen die bestehende Flotte von 29 Krananlagen im Tiefwasserbereich, die gem\u00e4ss dem Hafen f\u00fcr die Abfertigung der gr\u00f6ssten Containerschiffe im Atlantikverkehr ausgelegt sind. Sarah J. McCoy, Interims-CEO und Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrerin der Virginia Port Authority, betont, dass diese Infrastrukturinvestition ein Signal an die Reedereien sende, ihr Umschlagvolumen im Hafen von Virginia zu steigern. \u201eUnsere Liegeplatzkapazit\u00e4t w\u00e4chst.
