In dieser Funktion wird er den Ausbau des Frankfurter Standorts des Unternehmens unterst\u00fctzen, das im Bereich Air-Cargo-Handling eine f\u00fchrende Rolle einnimmt. Zuvor war Weil als Vice President Sales Cargo am Flughafen Frankfurt t\u00e4tig und wirkte als Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied sowie erster Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer der Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. Seine umfangreiche Erfahrung wird er nun in die Entwicklung des Unternehmens einbringen.<\/p>\n<h3>Expansion am Frankfurter Standort<\/h3>\n<p>WFS plant, seine Aktivit\u00e4ten am bedeutendsten deutschen Luftfracht-Hub erheblich auszubauen, insbesondere im Bereich Spedition und E-Commerce. Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, wird das Unternehmen ein grosses Logistikzentrum in der Cargo City S\u00fcd beziehen, das zuvor von DHL genutzt wurde. Diese Massnahme soll die Wettbewerbsf\u00e4higkeit von WFS im Luftfrachtsektor st\u00e4rken.<\/p>\n<p>Roland Weil bringt 40 Jahre Erfahrung in der Luftfahrtbranche mit. Seine Karriere begann er in der Vertriebsabteilung von Air Canada in Frankfurt am Main. Anschlie\u00dfend war er viele Jahre bei Delta Air Lines t\u00e4tig, wo er verschiedene Vertriebspositionen innehatte, zuletzt als Regional Director Sales Southern Europe and Southeast Asia. Im M\u00e4rz 2005 wechselte er als Vice President Sales zu Fraport, wo er als zentraler Ansprechpartner f\u00fcr die Strecken- und Netzwerkplaner der Fluggesellschaften agierte und die Entwicklung der Linienfl\u00fcge nach und \u00fcber Frankfurt sicherstellte. Im Februar 2013 \u00fcbernahm er die neu geschaffene Position des Vice President Sales Cargo bei Fraport und war massgeblich am Ausbau des Luftfrachtgesch\u00e4fts am Frankfurter Flughafen beteiligt.<\/p>\n<p>Claus Wagner, Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer von FCS, der Frankfurter Tochtergesellschaft von WFS, \u00e4usserte sich positiv \u00fcber den Neuzugang: \u201eWir freuen uns, Roland Weil in der WFS-Familie willkommen zu hei\u00dfen. Wir sehen der Zusammenarbeit mit ihm im Rahmen der weiteren Entwicklung unserer Aktivit\u00e4ten in Frankfurt sehr positiv entgegen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Worldwide Flight Services wurde 1984 gegr\u00fcndet und ist als Mitglied der SATS-Gruppe der weltweit gr\u00f6\u00dfte Luftfrachtlogistikdienstleister. Das Unternehmen ist auch einer der f\u00fchrenden Anbieter von Bodenabfertigungsdiensten und erzielte einen Jahresumsatz von 2 Mrd. EUR.
