Das Schiff, das als erstes von f\u00fcnf gecharterten dual-fuel Frachtschiffen fungiert, wurde k\u00fcrzlich vorgestellt. Diese Initiative ist Teil von Cargills Strategie zur Reduzierung von Kohlenstoffemissionen im Bereich des Massengutfrachtverkehrs, wie das Unternehmen mitteilt.<\/p>\n<h3>Erste Fahrt mit gr\u00fcnem Methanol<\/h3>\n<p>&#8222;Brave Pioneer&#8220; wurde von der Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. gebaut und geh\u00f6rt zur Mitsui &amp; Co. Ltd. Das Schiff ist in der Lage, sowohl mit herk\u00f6mmlichen maritimen Kraftstoffen als auch mit gr\u00fcnem Methanol zu operieren, einem Kraftstoff, der als umweltfreundlichere Alternative gilt. Sch\u00e4tzungen zufolge kann der Einsatz von gr\u00fcnem Methanol im Vergleich zu herk\u00f6mmlichem Treibstoff die CO2-Emissionen um bis zu 70% reduzieren, so das Unternehmen.<\/p>\n<p>Das Schiff hat k\u00fcrzlich die Philippinen verlassen und wird in Singapur mit gr\u00fcnem Methanol betankt, bevor es nach Westaustralien und anschliessend nach Europa weiterf\u00e4hrt. W\u00e4hrend dieser Jungfernfahrt plant Cargill betriebliche Tests, um die Einsatzbereitschaft von gr\u00fcnem Methanol zu bewerten. Zudem sollen die M\u00f6glichkeiten zur Nachverfolgung und Verifizierung der Umweltattribute untersucht werden.
