Es ist das n\u00e4chste Projekt des bekannten franz\u00f6sischen Polarforschers Jean-Louis \u00c9tienne, der unter anderem als erster Mensch den Nordpol allein erreicht hat. Mit der Polar Pod-Forschungsplattform m\u00f6chte er die Meeresstr\u00f6mungen um die su\u0308dliche Polkappe untersuchen und dabei unter anderem neue Erkenntnisse u\u0308ber den Klimawandel gewinnen.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif;font-weight: normal\">(Le Plessis P\u00e2t\u00e9)<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\"> Kernstu\u0308ck des Projektes ist der Polar Pod, eine Forschungsplattform, die mit den Meeresstr\u00f6mungen zwei Jahre um den Su\u0308dpol treiben wird. Sie ist 100 Meter lang und wiegt 1.000 Tonnen. Das Besondere ist die Funktionsweise der Plattform. Diese wird zu ihrem Startort geschleppt, wo sie sich mit Hilfe von Ballasttanks aufrichtet und somit senkrecht im Meer treibt. Dieses Prinzip basiert auf der \u201eFLIP\u201c-Plattform, einem Forschungsschiff der US Navy, das bereits seit den 60er-Jahren mit diesem Verfahren genutzt wird und bisher einzigartig war. Auf diese Weise liegt der Polar Pod selbst bei starkem Wellengang und Sturm stabil im Wasser, w\u00e4hrend der fehlende Antrieb und die Eintauchtiefe fu\u0308r eine st\u00f6rungsfreie Messung von Ger\u00e4uschen, Str\u00f6mungen und anderen Aspekten wichtig ist. Der Bau der Plattform startet im Januar 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\">Untersuchung des CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Austauschs zwischen Luft und Meer <\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\">Die Mission wird von Jean-Louis \u00c9tienne durchgefu\u0308hrt. Der beru\u0308hmte franz\u00f6sische Polarforscher hat seit den 80er-Jahren mehrere umfangreiche Expeditionen am Nord- und Su\u0308dpol durchgefu\u0308hrt, mit denen er auf die Wichtigkeit dieser Regionen hinweisen m\u00f6chte. Das Hauptziel der Polar-Pod-Mission <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12458 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/transportjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/12\/ASTRE_30.6.21_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"163\" height=\"163\" \/>ist die Untersuchung des CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Austauschs zwischen Luft und Meer, um die Bedeutung der Ozeane als CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Speicher im Rahmen des Klimawandels zu erforschen. Neben diesem Aspekt werden auch weitere Felder erforscht, wie zum Beispiel die Effekte von Versauerung, Wellendynamik und die L\u00e4rmentwicklung in den Ozeanen. Die Plattform selbst ist dabei komplett autark und emissionsfrei, um m\u00f6glichst wenig Einfluss auf das zu erforschende \u00d6kosystem zu haben.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\">Verantwortung wahrnehmen<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\">Denis Baudouin, Pr\u00e4sident des ASTRE-Netzwerks, erl\u00e4utert die Gru\u0308nde fu\u0308r die Unterstu\u0308tzung des Projektes: \u201eAls gr\u00f6\u00dftes europ\u00e4isches Logistiknetzwerk haben wir auch eine hohe Verantwortung. Es ist uns wichtig, Nachhaltigkeit und Emissionsreduktion zu f\u00f6rdern, weshalb wir innerhalb der ASTRE bereits eine Reihe von verschiedenen Projekten etabliert haben. Die Unterst\u00fctzung der Polar-Pod-Expedition war fu\u0308r uns daher ein wichtiger Schritt, um die Forschung in diesem Bereich voranzutreiben. Zudem ist es eine besondere Ehre, als europ\u00e4isches Netzwerk mit franz\u00f6sischen Urspr\u00fcngen einen der renommiertesten franz\u00f6sischen Polarforscher bei seiner Arbeit zu unterstu\u0308tzen.
