Transmec UK promotes Imran Mohammed
Transport and logistics group Transmec has promoted its experienced London branch manager to general manager to lead its UK operations. Imran Mohammed will take over from John Simkins, who has stepped aside after nine years in the role.
Previously serving as UK finance director for 18 years, Imran Mohammed became London manager in 2019 and will continue to head this branch. His priorities will be to manage continuing growth while overseeing the London depot’s forthcoming move from West Thurrock to a 14,405 sqm warehouse at London Gateway.
Transmec UK’s other depots in Bradford, Redditch and Worcester provide a range of domestic and international services, supported by its own customs department based in Birmingham. Headquartered in Modena, Italy, Transmec Group has more than 40 branches in 16 countries worldwide and a turnover of more than EUR 500 million. (cj)
