Zim's new LNG vessels
Zim Integrated Shipping Services celebrated the naming ceremonies of three new LNG vessels in Korea and China, advancing its sustainability efforts.
The vessels, “Zim Mount Elbrus”, “Zim Mount Vinson”, and “Zim Pearl”, are part of the shipping line’s fleet renovation, with the first two being the final additions to a series of ten 15,000 teu LNG vessels and the third being the fifth in a series of fifteen 7,700 teu LNG vessels.
Equipped with advanced LNG technology, the vessels will be deployed on Zim’s flagship service, ZCP, connecting Asia and the East Coast of the USA. Once all 28 LNG green vessels join the fleet, approximately one-third of Zim's operational capacity will be powered by LNG. (pb)
