Zhengzhou airport more than doubles cargo capacity
Dimerco Express worked with Cathay Pacific to arrange its first flight for the new Zhengzhou North Cargo Terminal in Henan Province. The 160,000 sqm addition to CGO can handle 600,000 t of annual freight, bringing the airport’s total air cargo capacity to 1.1 million t.
The Zhengzhou Terminal has been growing in importance as China’s Central Plains area continues to open up to more manufacturing and trade activity, which is supported by the 77 freight forwarding offices Dimerco is operating in China.
The extension of the airport provides advanced automation for scanning, weighing and moving cargo within the terminal. The facility also offers a large cold chain area, a new customs inspection area, and 101 shipping docks to make it fast and easy for trucks to move to and from the facility. (ah)
