Yamato invests in 900 all-electric Fuso trucks

Daimler Truck’s subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Bus and Truck (MFTBC) has handed the first next generation of the Fuso eCanter over to Yamoto Transport in Japan.

It is the first of around 900 units commissioned - the largest single order for this light-duty electric truck model. The remaining trucks will be delivered in stages from now on.

The new trucks will help the haulier to achieve a 48% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (compared to 2020), and zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Yamoto is one of Japan’s largest door-to-door delivery service companies. Fuso is a 90-year-old Daimler brand. In 2017, the eCanter became the first series produced all-electric light-duty truck to be deployed in Japan. (ben)
