XPO surges ahead in 2021

XPO Logistics the company generated revenues of USD 4.1 billion in the full year of 2021, almost 14% up from 2020. Adjusted ebitda amounted to USD 904 million, a similar leap of 15.5% compared to 2020 (USD 764 million).

Brad Jacobs, chairman and CEO: "Our company delivered a strong fourth quarter finish to a year of solid growth. We reported the highest revenue of any quarter in our history and generated adjusted ebitda that exceeded our guidance for both the quarter and the year."

The group's outlook is robust. For 2022, XPO forecasts an adjusted ebitda of USD 1.36 billion to USD 1.40 billion. The North American LTL segment alone is expected to generate at least USD 1 billion of full year adjusted ebitda. XPO continues to roll out its "action plan" for North America.

Jacobs added that XPO’s digitisation strategy is paying off: "Our North American truck brokerage business is continuing to far outpace industry growth, propelled by our XPO Connect digital brokerage platform. This technology was a major tailwind behind the 29% load growth we achieved in 2021 year-over-year, including 35% load growth from our top 20 customers. In the fourth quarter, 70% of our brokerage orders were created or covered digitally." (sh) w
