WWW sets sail as standalone entity
We Work the Waterways (WWW), founded under Inland Rivers, Ports & Terminals (IRPT), will officially operate as an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organisation from 1 June. WWW focuses on building maritime career awareness among students, educators and communities, and uses hands-on programming to connect youth with real job opportunities in shipping and logistics.
“IRPT gave us a clear path forward," said executive director Errin Howard. Joining her in leading WWW are Pam Maxwell and Nikki Fondren.
The organisation aims to become the leading US voice for maritime education. While IRPT continues its focus on advocacy and infrastructure, both groups will collaborate where their missions align. (ah)
