Working on sustainable vehicle logistics

Reducing emissions in the finished vehicle logistics industry is part of the new initiatives the Association of European Vehicle Logistics (ECG) has launched in cooperation with Smart Freight Centre, a non-profit organisation.

The aim of the partnership is to use information from CO2-tracking to further decarbonisation in the sector. Smart Freight Centre can contribute its expertise on sustainable transformation in the forwarding and logistics industries.

The organisations have been working together for two years to offer emissions tracking for vehicle logistics providers. Using international standards and the GLEC framework for reporting, ECG and Smart Freight Centre can ensure a uniform process and enhance transparency.

With this data, specific trainings and guidelines can be updated to fit the sector’s current requirements, which will help the over 200 members of the ECG to achieve their sustainability goals. (mk)
