Waste collection now electric


The Sion (Switzerland)-based haulier Luginbühl has acquired a Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide LEC as the first vehicle built by the French truck manufacturer in its fleet.

 

Deployed as a road sweeper, the new 27 t truck has a battery capacity of 265 kWh and a range of 200 km. The electric engine with its two-speed gearbox delivers a maximum of 250 hp to the drive axle.

 

Luginbühl's fleet consists of 30 heavy trucks and numerous construction machines. They are used for refuse collection, container and skip transport, tipper operations, special transports and crane work, among other things. (ben)
