Wan Hai's next investment
Demand for maritime cargo capacities remains high, with prices still soaring. The German Danz und Tietjens Schiffahrtsgruppe sold a vessel to the Chinese liner Wan Hai for almost USD 110 million.
The German company had bought the 5,500 teu unit “Allegoria”, which was built in 2006, for USD 16 million in 2019. The maritime consultancy Vessels Value recently estimated the vessel at USD 91.8 million.
Wan Hai's order book currently stands at 40 ships, but the shipping company is also targeting second-hand vessels to enlarge its fleet. (sh)
