VNL: people take centre stage in logistics

With consistent networking and digitalisation, Austria’s logistics sector has evolved from the simple provision of freight transport services to an essential part of the country’s economy and competitiveness.

However, despite advanced automation, people remain irreplaceable actors at the centre of modern logistics, the Logistics Network Association (VNL) said as it celebrated its 30th anniversary recently.

As a network with 5,000 members, VNL has a relevant and valuable role to play right now, the association confirmed and called for new concepts to secure and bolster logistics as a system-relevant industry. The circular economy, emission-optimised supply chains, people in logistics, best logistics systems and resilient supply chains are some of the major issues that need to be addressed, VNL concluded.
