VD Group H1/2020 revenues up 40%
Volga-Dnepr Group enters the second half of 2020, the year of its 30th anniversary, in stability and consistency. Total revenue across Volga-Dnepr Airlines, AirBridgeCargo Airlines and Atran Airlines is up more than 40%.
"This", the Moscow-based group explained, "was achieved thanks to a quick response to market situations, the adaptation of strategy towards a new reality and interim changes of the carriers’ business models with a focus on charters’ programmes."
Amid over 18% and 19% drop in the overall market tonnage and ftk (freight tonne-kilometres), respectively, the group managed to hold on to 5% and 10% decrease, given that most of the flights were operated as charters and transported low-density PPE. In H1, the group delivered 25,000 t of PPE, medical beds and mattresses, artificial lung ventilation apparatus and oversized and heavy sterilisation vehicles. (ah)
