US intermodal offer extended
In the USA the haulier J.B. Hunt and the class I railway BNSF have launched their new 'Quanton' solution, to transport service-sensitive highway freight using rail and offering customised solutions.
The 'Quantum' team is made up of J.B. Hunt and BNSF operators housed together at a new intermodal innovation centre at BNSF headquarters in Fort Worth TX. It provides 24/7 oversight of every 'Quantum' load and can quickly detect and resolve issues before they impact delivery.
Quantum customers can expect up to 95% on-time delivery service a day faster than traditional intermodal service, the partners said. 7–11 million loads of freight are expected to shift from road to intermodal service. (ben)
