US class I railway transports for Vulcan Materials
Union Pacific (UP) has delivered 95 gondola railcars loaded with aggregate limestone rock from Medina County, Texas, to the US port Freeport. It is the first rail shipment from Vulcan Materials Company to arrive at the port’s new rail-served Parcel 14 multi-modal industrial park. UP is a long-term partner of Port Freeport.
Vulcan Materials Company plans to develop an aggregate distribution facility on the new facility. “Having rail access, in combination with our existing shipyard, allows us to better supply our customers and diversify our product line in the Coastal Texas Market,” the company said. (ben)
