US class I railway launches domestic service
With the growth of its direct-rail intermodal service connecting Southern California with key markets in the Midwest, Burlington Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) is expanding its services between Los Angeles, CA and St. Louis, MO. The upgrade increases the market reach, frequency and capacity in a key intermodal lane, the US class I railway said.
The new domestic, container-only service will be offered five days a week for eastbound and three days a week for westbound freight. Customers who originate shipments at BNSF’s Hobart intermodal facility can now access some of the fastest growing industrial and consumer markets in and around the greater St. Louis area, BNSF added.
