Urgent refinery cargo from Italy to the Middle East
Antonov Airlines has completed the time-critical transport of a valve for an oil refinery, ensuring its operations weren’t disrupted.
In collaboration with Air Partner the Antonov An-124-100 delivered the 20 t, 3 m high cargo from Italy to the Middle East. Due to the sensitive lifting and lashing points, Antonov’s in-house ramp system and external cranes were used for loading.
“Although not oversized, this unit required special handling,” said Eugene Kiva, commercial executive at Antonov Airlines. Eliska Hill, senior vice-president for cargo in the UK and ROW at Air Partner, highlighted the detailed planning needed to ensure safe and timely delivery. The operation showcased precision and reliability in critical logistics. (ah)
