UP to serve new industrial park
The US class railway will be the exclusive rail service provider of the new Rail Park in Buckeye, Arizona (USA). The park’s first tenant, Rehrig Pacific Company, recently broke ground on its 24,155 sqm injection moulding plastics manufacturing plant.
In spring 2024, Rehrig Pacific will begin manufacturing onsite reusable plastic products like industrial roll-out carts, recycling bins, pallets and other reusable plastic containers made from new and recycled resin.
UP will support Rehrig Pacific’s sustainable supply chain with an eco-friendly transport solution. The railway can move 1 t of freight over a distance of 745 km on a single gallon (3.78 l) of diesel fuel, emitting 75% less CO2 than trucks. (ben)
