United Cargo supports the troops

United Cargo is increasing the frequency of cargo-only flights between the USA and military bases around the world. Last week the carrier began operating 40+ cargo-only flights weekly, using Boeing 777 and 787 to fly freight and mail to and from US hubs and key international business and military locations.

Since 20 March, more than 13 t of military mail has been flown daily between Chicago ORD and Frankfurt, which is then transported all over Europe and the Middle East. Return flights carry an average of 16 t of mail.

The airline also found creative ways to transport fresh food and produce, as well as basic essentials to military and their families in Guam/Micronesia. On 28 March, United Airlines operated a B777-300 charter with nearly 46 t of food essentials to Guam to support the troops. (ah)
