Unifeeder expanding green fleet

The Unifeeder Group is making strides towards reducing its emissions and becoming more sustainable by entering a long-term time-charter agreement for two methanol-capable container feeder vessels, with an option for two more.

The 1,250 teu vessels, managed by the German firm Elbdeich Reederei, are set for delivery in 2026 and will be deployed in Unifeeder's European network. Unifeeder is collaborating with industry partners to secure renewable methanol supplies, a key element in its decarbonisation efforts.

Concurrently, the company plans to enhance fuel efficiency in its fleet and increase the use of biofuels. These initiatives are in line with Unifeeder's ambitious sustainability goals, aiming to reduce emissions by 25% by 2030 and to net zero by 2050. (pb)
