Ukraine and Moldova to ease transit traffic
The two countries have ratified an agreement that will enable transit transports on the Etulia (Moldova) - Reni (Ukraine) - Giurgiulesti (Moldova) route without a three-day stopover in Reni.
This will speed up and expand railfreight traffic between Ukraine and Moldova and substantially increase the export potential of the Danube ports, the ministry of development of communities, territories and infrastructure of Ukraine said.
The changes will also add capacity to the Fricacei-Etulia and Reni-Giurgiulesti border posts. Furthermore, work is currently underway to restore and develop the infrastructure of Ukraine’s seaports Izmail and Reni. (ben)
