UECC and automakers partner for greener logistics
Toyota Motor Europe, Ford of Europe, and another major manufacturer have joined UECC's "sail for change" programme, using bio-LNG-powered vessels to reduce emissions in their logistics chains. This initiative is expected to cut UECC’s global Scope 1 emissions by 80,000 t annually.
The programme enables carbon-neutral cargo loading at European ports and aligns with upcoming regulations like the EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) and fuel EU maritime. This partnership advances decarbonisation in maritime transport, reflecting the manufacturers' sustainability goals. (pb)
