U-Freight: more robots in Hong Kong hub

The Hong Kong based company U-Freight has expanded the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) and intelligent racking system in its warehouse.

1,115 sqm of the company’s e-commerce fulfilment centre in Kwai Chung have been equipped with an AMR and intelligent racking system, and associated operating software, provided by Geek+.

30 of Geek+ robots have been added in the warehouse. They will be used to move inventory shelves and pallets to the workstations. Thus, operators need not leave their stations, improving putaway and picking accuracy.

The system also permits an efficient adjustment of inventory layout and delivers heat analysis and recommendations on where inventory should be stored.

Simon Wong, CEO, U-Freight: “The latest development is part of U-Freight’s ongoing investment to meet the ever-increasing challenges of providing logistics services to this rapidly expanding sector of global trade.” (mk)
