Two new sustainable 650 teu vessels
A2B-online, a provider of flexible trailer, container, and shipping services, has announced the construction of two sustainable vessels with a capacity of 650 teu. The vessels were designed and developed in partnership with Hamburg-based design and engineering company Technolog Services.
A2B-online already has a fleet composed with seven container vessels: the two new vessels will be equipped with the latest technologies to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 95%.
The company has an eye on the long-term. The multi-fuel methanol propulsion system will allow the vessels to operate emission free during port and inland water operations. Currently under construction in Turkey, the two vessels are expected to be in service by the end of 2024, operating between Moerdijk in the Netherlands and Immingham, UK. (lh)
