Two 44 t trucks for waste transports
The UK-based waste haulier Fred Sherwood Transport has taken delivery of two 44-t Volvo FH Electric 6x2 tractor units. Joining a fleet of roughly 350 CV, the vehicles will make the company’s operations more sustainable and thus reduce its environmental impact.
The business will pair the new zero-tailpipe emission trucks with specially designed walking floor trailers, from Titan Trailers, for waste and recycling operations in and around its main headquarters in Shepshed, Leicestershire (UK).
Justin Sherwood, director at Fred Sherwood Group: “Initially, Fred Sherwood Transport will look to get roughly 290 km from them, doing back-to-base work and charging them overnight at our depot where Volvo has installed two new wall-box AC 43 kW chargers.” (ben)
