Transport specialist improves container train loading
Container transport specialist Maritime Transport in the UK has ordered two Konecranes straddle carriers for container train loading and unloading at Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal (BIFT). The machines will be delivered in September 2019.
The contract furthermore includes an option for two more straddle carrier units. The straddle carriers will be diesel-electric machines stacking three-high with Konecranes Noell single-lift spreaders.
"The two Konecranes Noell machines will continue to drive the efficiency of the terminal as maritime continues its development into rail,” the company says. (ben)
