Train to link Luxembourg and Germany
The new train, launched by LKW Walter and CFL Multimodal, runs between the Intermodal Terminal Bettembourg-Dudelange, Luxembourg, and the Port of Lübeck, Germany. It will offer three weekly rotations and can carry 40 trailers.
Further ro-ro connections will be available from Lübeck, linking the continent with Sweden and Finland. The multimodal hub in Bettembourg-Dudelange provides access to other European ports and hubs such as transport hubs in France and Spain such as Lyon and Le Boulou.
CFL Cargo and CFL Multimodal will manage cross-border traction, and the new service will enable a reduction of 11,700 t of carbon emissions per year. (ben)
