Train connects Turkey and UK in eight days
MSC has introduced the Omerli-Tekirdag rail service with three roundtrips daily on six days per week. The new train is operated by Medlog, MSC’s logistics arm in Europe, and connects the Omerli Depot in Istanbul’s industrial zone, Turkey, with UK. The service uses the fast Turkey Marmara Service which avoids the Istanbul traffic and reduces road miles.
Once departed from Turkey, the cargo reaches the Port of Felixstowe in eight days or the Port of Liverpool in 12 days. From here, the journey will be completed with a door-to-door service via road and rail.
For export cargo, Tekirdag is just 13 days from London Gateway, 14 days from Liverpool and 16 days from Felixstowe. (ben)
