Three rail companies build a maintenance station

The Austrian rail companies ÖBB Train Tech, LTE and ELL (European Locomotive Leasing) have opened the doors of their joint Locomotive Maintenance Station, Locmasta, near Vienna, Austria, after just 14 months of construction.

Locmasta's buildings next to Gramatneusiedl train station include a 1,200 sqm workshop. It comprises parking spaces with an indoor crane and lifting system, two roof work platforms and work pits as well as an excellent infrastructure with the best measuring and testing equipment including ECM 4 certification, the companies said. Training rooms are also part of the set up. Starting with 14 employees, the partners expect to increase the joint venture’s team to 36 soon. (ben)
