Test with semi-automated driving

Following a test and validation process lasting several months, DSV, the retailer DM-Drogerie, Iveco and the software company Plus are launching a pilot project for autonomous driving in Germany.

In the first phase, Iveco drivers will carry out the test and accompany and train the DSV drivers. After that, the trained drivers will be able to drive themselves. The Iveco S-Way vehicle model - equipped with Plus software for driver-monitored, highly automated driving - will be used for the test.

As part of the project, the new vehicle, designed for series production, will deliver goods from the DM-Drogeriemarkt outlet in Waghäusel (Baden-Württemberg) to the DSV distribution centre in Gernsheim (Hesse). (ben)
