Take-over and extension on Portuguese ground

Menzies Aviation has signed a subscription agreement with TAP Air Portugal and Groundforce to acquire a controlling stake of 50.1% in Groundforce. The airline’s aviation services arm processed over 165,000 t of cargo in 2022 (+18% compared to 2019) at five airports on the mainland and two airports on Madeira.

In other news, Groundforce Portugal’s operations at Lisbon, Porto and Funchal airport will all benefit from the migration to Hermes SaaS, with Faro expected to follow in the near future.

Paulo Colla Carvalheiro, planning, processes and innovation director, Groundforce Portugal: "Upgrading to Hermes SaaS will help push forward our digitalisation strategy, and we will gain additional functionality, reliability, and the promise of scalability for our full operations network." (ah)
