Switzerland: "mega charger" for heavy e-trucks
The Swiss haulage company Galliker has put its first mega charging station into operation. The battery-buffered fast-charging system with the dimensions of a standard Designwerk container is used to charge heavy electric trucks. It is also intended to help take pressure off the power grid at peak charging times.
Galliker’s combination of storage and charging solutions contains four battery packs with a total capacity of 1,000 kWh. The maximum version accommodates storage units with a total capacity of up to 2,000 kWh. The charging station is recharged during the day with electricity produced by the company’s own solar panels.
