Swiss hydrogen initiative reaches milestone
A programme to decarbonise heavy goods transport with hydrogen has been underway in Switzerland for two years now.
At the first H2 Trucker Meeting in Olten, the initiative celebrated a memorable milestone: 20 hydrogen electric trucks of the Hyundai brand have now jointly completed the 5 millionth kilometre of operation, saving more than 4,000 t of CO2 emissions in the process.
The basis for the use of these vehicles is green hydrogen, which is currently produced in Switzerland by Hydrospider. The H2 trucks are operated by 20 Swiss companies from the retail and logistics sectors. (ben)
