Swedish carrier runs extra trains for wood supplier
Despite the current Covid-19 situation and reduced demand in many segments, Holmen’s round timber customers still need to transport raw materials, resulting in an increased demand for freight transport capacities.
The Swedish carrier Green Cargo has been able to meet Holmen’s requirements for extra trains. The two companies have a long history of collaboration with the transportation of pulpwood and saw logs between regions in northern Sweden.
In April last year, the partners expanded their cooperation by adding several new destinations, and a transport solution entailing more locomotives and a new type of wagon was developed to optimise capacity. (ben)
