Swedish carrier lands steel haulage contract
The steel company, SSAB, has shown its trust in the Swedish railfreight carrier Green Cargo by awarding it a new contract to handle the crucial flow of steel ingots and finished products between SSAB’s Swedish plants in Luleå, Borlänge and Oxelösund.
The new, at least five year agreement, which takes effect on 1 January 2020, covers the Norra Stålpendeln line between Lulea and Borlänge, the Södra Stålpendeln line between Borlänge and Oxelösund and the shunting services at SSAB’s production plants in Borlänge and Oxelösund. The volume totals approximately 3 million t a year. (ben)
