Supporting the constitutional referendum in Haiti

In May and June Chapman Freeborn transported material, needed for a constitutional referendum, from Miami and Johannesburg airports to Port-au-Prince (PAP), the capital of Haiti.

The referendum was initially set to take place in a month, on 19 September, but has now been postponed to 7 November, following the assassination of Haiti’s president, Jovenel Moïse, on 7 July.

The material was transported on behalf of Renform. In May, 2 t of training material was sent from Miami to PAP in a Saab 340. The following month the paperwork for the referendum was loaded onto two British Airways Boeing B787s in Johannesburg and also flown to PAP. The 107 packages, weighing 60.5 t, contained ballot papers and envelopes. (ah)
