"Supply chain turmoil will last till 2023"

According to Bloomberg, Dubai-based terminal, logistics and port operator DP World expects supply chain bottlenecks to last for another two years at the minimum.

Its chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem said: "The global supply chain was in crisis at the beginning of the pandemic. Maybe in 2023 we'll see an easing." The effects of shortages and delays will keep driving rates and costs of maritime transport, he added. Currently, global supply chains are still struggling to meet market demand. Shippers also continue to feel the impact.

"Many manufacturers around the world are delayed by as much as three years because they can't get components from China," Bin Sulayem summed up. (sh)
