Stockholm: first step towards shuttle train services
Stockholm Norvik Port, a new freight port in Sweden, is due to open in May 2020. To create the preconditions for rail transport to/from the new freight port, applications for a number of shuttle train routes were submitted by Ports of Stockholm to the Swedish Transport Administration at the beginning of April 2019.
The applications for shuttle train routes to/from Stockholm Norvik Port include links to the Swedish cities Insjön, Borlänge, Eskilstuna and Hallsberg. Additional rail routes to/from the port will be discussed and studied in the near future. (ben)
